Hurricane Relief

Harvey made landfall as a category 4 hurricane, and though it was downgraded to tropical storm, it remains dangerous as it continues to churn inland into Texas.  Damage in and near Rockport and Port Lavaca, where the storm made landfall, was catastrophic.  Flooding in the Houston area is unprecedented.  The total costs in lives and destruction of this storm is unimaginable.  But you can play a part in the recovery effort even if you can go to Texas.

On Wednesday September 6th, the Category 5 Irma, packing winds of 185 mph, tore through the northern Lesser Antilles and Virgin Islands, as well as Puerto Rico. PDA has been in constant communication with communities in its path.

PDA has been in touch with the leadership of the Synod of Boriquen (Puerto Rico) and the Presbyteries of San Juan, Noroeste (Northwest) and Suroeste (Southwest) to share contact information and grant information.

National Response Teams are being deployed into the affected regions when it is safe to do so.  This charitable mission wing of our denomination will be one of the first groups on the ground and is committed to helping in the long haul.  You can donate to PDA today to help assist the recovery.  Click the button below to see how you can assist.
